This free and simple Samsung utility will let you put your mobile device and your PC or laptop in connection with each other so that you can use your phone from your computer just as if it were one more of your apps.
The first step is to install SideSync on the two devices you want to pair. Once you’ve launched both apps, you’ll find that there are two ways you can connect your Samsung Galaxy device to your computer – via Wi-Fi or using a USB cable. Both options are equally straightforward, and both have pros and cons. Wi-Fi connections tend to be unstable, which usually results in occasional disconnections that can become annoying after a while, especially when you’re sharing information between devices. On the pros side, you can use your phone from your computer much more discreetly. Incoming calls and messages will be discreetly displayed on the app’s menu on your computer, allowing you to read them and manage them without touching your phone.
How useful a tool like SideSync may be for you will depend on your expectations and the use you make of your phone or tablet. Do not expect to find specific tools to back up and restore your phone, to unlock your SIM, or to root your device. SideSync will merely put it in contact with your PC or laptop, allowing you to use your phone discreetly from your computer’s display and to move files backwards and forwards using your mouse. Some may say that they never needed a tool like SideSync to copy their photos and audio files to the PC and vice versa, and they are right. But apart from the fact that this app will let them now do that also via Wi-Fi, it will give them the possibility of being fully connected to their mobile devices without anyone noticing it. If it is discretion you’re after, then you need SideSync.
To avoid any frustrations, you’re advised to check the program’s specifications beforehand, especially those related to minimum requirements and recommended operating systems on both sides. Note also that, regrettably, SideSync is not available for all Samsung tablets and smartphones.
